Why am I doing this Ministry?

My life and faith were transformed by being a part of InterVarsity (IV) at Colorado School of Mines(CSM). Together college students become a fellowship of believers. Now that I have graduated I believe that God has called and prepared me to impact college students’ lives through IV. Starting in August I will be leading a college ministry group with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Colorado Boulder(CU IV)

Though I am now an engineer I wish my degree also said InterVarsity leader, because I poured my heart out for IV at CSM. God has used my time at CSM to grow and develop my ministry skills. I was able to help start the InterVarsity group at Red Rocks Community college this spring and summer (the group now called Red Rocks IV now has over 15 students). I have found that I love working with people, particularly college students where personal and spiritual development is incredibly fast. Engineering is critical to society, but I feel that God has called me at least for now to engineer a college fellowship.

Now is the time for CU, last year over 20 students with open hearts who had never called themselves Christians joined InterVarsity at CU. However, most of these students left over the year I believe due to the lack of strong spiritual leadership. Kim (on the right in the picture) a student leader at CU in IV told me, “without full time staff last year we as leaders in the group lost vision and direction”. Jesus spoke of the same challenge:
Matthew 9:37 “Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.’

God’s harvest is plentiful among the hearts of college students at CU Boulder. God has sent me to bring in his harvest as I raise up student leaders to reach new students and lead the IV fellowship to become a movement for the kingdom. I believe God has called and equipped me with the skills and passion to lead the CU IV fellowship.
In my calling to IV staff ministry I cannot go to the college campus alone. I need you and others to partner with me in order to reach God’s harvest among the 30,000 students at CU. With your support I can commit full time to God’s ministry at CU Boulder by fundraising $40,000. I will need a team of 20 partners supporting 100$ per month and 28 partners at $50 per month. Please pray to the Lord of the harvest for my ministry at CU. I ask that you consider partnering in my ministry at CU Boulder by giving donations monthly. To donate see the post called to Donate to My Ministry with InterVarsity. I believe this is a partnership and not another charity. If you believe in this ministry please contact me and I would love to tell you more and talk over the phone or in person.
