NSO is one of InterVarsities many acronyms. NSO stands for new student outreach. Usually NSO is the first 6-8 weeks of a school year or semester. In this time a lot of energy and events are focused on meeting and welcoming new students into InterVarsity. This is how we have sustainable ministry and how we grow. This is an exciting and stressful time because we want lots of new students to get involved and join us so that we are a growing thriving ministry.
Here is a story of having fun doing NSO. God wrote this story and blessed us abundantly.
Several of us went to help new students move in and possibly make connections. But CU and most colleges are very protective of their students especially of their possesions and who they meet as they are new. In order to help move in each organization has to sign up and give information on the group and who is helping. InterVarsity did not do that, I mean we weren't originally planning to go. There were only 3 of us (Tom, Ivanna and myself) who went to help. But we got caught, probably because I was eating a muffin for volunteers haha. But, we got caught. They asked which group we were with. We were honest and thought we would kicked off. She called in to see if we were registered. Ivanna sent up a quick prayer for protection. We were even worried this would impact InterVarisities reputation and access on campus.
And God provided . . . Instead of getting kicked off she said stay and help and here if we want drive these golf carts around and help students. And we said yes, thank you very much!
Go Tom! But keep your eyes open when you drive!
Yay, Ivanna meeting students!
God you are good!
