August was a time of transition as I said goodbye to Evergreen
and Golden and I moved to Boulder, CO. I started working full time for
InterVarsity at CU as my first full time job. This has been a challenging time
stepping into my new role. I have had many times of joy as well as mistakes
that are helping me grow. I am blessed by my staff team, by all of you my
supporters and by every gift of God!
One of the hardest transitions have been managing my time without a set schedule. I am struggling to learn to use my time effectively for the kingdom and to include time for fun and rest. Fortunately my intern team and I live next to each other, so we have the chance to hang out and get away from the challenges of a life of ministry especially at Boulder. Boulder is definitely a place where the distractions of this world get in the way of people and Jesus. Drugs, alcohol, success, image, relationships are all worshiped in that people give their time and money to them above God.
Another transition is from student involved in InterVarsity to staff. Many of the roles are similar but with subtle transitions. Sometimes I feel trapped, wanting to have more of a role and sometimes the roles I have seem overwhelming.
